This is a new beta test widget for Livejournal from LibraryThing.com. Not as pretty as the one on my Blogger blog, but they are working on it. LJ is a little less friendly to 3rd parties.

Anyway, it's a way to catalog your library on-line. I am slowly updating it as I have render breaks, but I have a lot of books!

And so it goes...

Just when I think it all might be smoothing out, an e-mail comes in to send my mind spinning. For those of you who know my current issues at work- I'd appreciate prayers. It's been a rough few months. I've just made a rather large investment to help keep my job, and today hear new information / rumors of everything ending May 1st. Here's hoping it's just idle tongues... I'm going to try to ignore it for now.

It's been crazy...

but there is finally some light at the end of the tunnel! Most of my equipment is in and works great. Just waiting for the last bit (hopefully soon) and doing the final software installing, moving and decorating. I cannot describe my joy! It has been such a headache with the work around I had. The past few months have been rough...
I'm going with a robin egg blue, brown and light yellow theme. I've put away most of the action figures (except my Batgirls!) and am pretending to be a grown up. I've got some beautiful pieces by my cousin Ginna (ginnae.etsy.com) hidden in little nooks and they always warm my heart.
Pics soon, once I get everything in and arranged!

What a beautiful day!

It's really lovely here. I'm gonna make us go get some lunch outside. Maybe at the new Greek restaurant that just opened up... Nah, we'll probably hit the Thai temple as usual! ;)
I'm finally getting a chance to make some new jewelry pieces. With my "real job" it's been crazy and I haven't had much of a chance to make anything sparkly... (Sounds like I'm talking about something from those Twilight DVD adds that play on TV every 5 seconds!).
Mom and Dad are coming down Tuesday. I finally bit the bullet and purchased a new editing system with all the bells and whistles and they are gonna help me pick it up in the van. It all wouldn't fit in our cars. Doing this is scary in this economy, but we decided it was needed. If only for my sanity, which is quite stressed by my work around system.
Well, I really should be taking more jewelry pics for the Etsy site, but my excuse is that I have a new lighting kit coming for our store photos... Now that we have a nicer camera (a great Christmas gift!) our home made set up wasn't working. So look for new photos soon!

So...

This life is a test...

This life is a test, and only a test. If it were a real life, you would have been given instructions on where to go and what to do...

Actually, this is a test of BlogIt to see if I can really cross post...

So...

Today was a bit:

I'm still scratching my head. Who knew that my after lunch was going to be so shocking?

Can't really talk about it, but will post when it all falls out.

Well, it's been a long week...

  • Jan. 31st, 2009 at 2:26 PM

Between Mom having surgery (which thankfully went well) and the Cody saga, I am exhausted. I wanted to go home this weekend so bad, but I guess it might be better that it didn't work out. Mom didn't get out till this afternoon, but it is better for her and she has gotten rave reviews on her recovery!
As for Cody, we spent Wednesday night at the emergency vet, after his newly replaced bandage fell off. The vet had replaced it that afternoon, but obviously not very well. After Nathan and I both tried to replace it and failed, we called the emergency vet. While there, Cody was running a high fever and shaking nonstop. We stayed up all night monitoring him until I could take him in Thursday morning. Of course, our vet was closed, so we stopped by the emergency vet once more. Then Friday, it was back to the regular vet. What a week!
He hates the cone and has spent every moment trying to pry it off with the wall, my leg, the sofa- anything he can find. Fun! He has managed to remove the cone support (thus the little tassle of bandage), but the vet said not to worry. It's better to have a crinkled ear than anymore stress!

Cody made it!

He's pretty drugged up right now. Rubbing him seems to make him happy, but he's pretty loopy and going in and out of sleep. The vet said his ear should heal nice and straight. He goes back Wednesday to replace the bandages and till then we get to feed him pain meds. Fun!

Back from the vet...

And poor Cody has to have surgery on Friday. So he gets to be a cone head for a while.

On the good side, it's a simple surgery and the vet said Cody is in very good shape. Plus, he was amazingly well behaved, even when they poked him for the blood work and to drain the ear. He's a brave boy!

Long time no write...

  • Dec. 1st, 2008 at 1:14 PM

Things have been crazy around here, so no time to sit and write. I still need to post on the visit by the super-chic Clothes_slut, but here is a quick jewelry post to tide over till then. Here are some pieces the hubs and I made on our trip to NC for Thanksgiving and that I posted to the Etsy site last night...

This necklace has gotten the most comments. It is one solid necklace that stays in a permanent twist. Even the owner of a bead store begged Megarath to show him how he made it... We have some silver coming, so expect a silver one soon.

Yeah, so we really have taken to the chain making. While making (by hand) all the jump rings is tedious, we sure love to play with them. Even if I can't get Brandy by Looking Glass out of my head now...

Brandy, wears a braided chain
Made of finest silver from the north of Spain
A locket, that bears the name
Of a man that Brandy loved...
